Beginners Seminar
Needs must, as they say, and for 2021 we did the Beginner’s Seminar as a zoom meeting! It worked really well – so well that for both the 2022 and the 2023 Seminar we did the same again! 2024 Beginner’s Seminar will also be held on zoom. Link to join the zoom meeting is below:
Topics covered will include:
- What is a tri?
- What kind of / level of training
- Open water swimming
- What to expect on the day
- What to wear
- Ladies triathlon journeys!!
- Q&A
We’ll finish off with answering any questions that Divas may have!
The seminar will be led by Sally Napthen (Level 3 British Triathlon coach) . Jean Ashley will be online ready to answer any questions with respect to the Quad!! Hopefully we may be joined by other Tri Club ladies who can share their experiences.
The link to the zoom seminar will been sent out to all Divas on the entry list nearer the date.
Bring your own tea/coffee, cakes and biscuits…or even a cheeky glass of wine!
Deva Divas Training Days
This has worked really well for the last few years…..2024 will follow the same pattern and there will again be some ‘cycle the route’ evenings organised. A small group with a coach/bike leader to ride the Divas cycle route. The group will stop at several intervals during the ride with coach/bike leaders answering any questions / giving helpful pointers! Dates will be posted nearer the time.
The group will be small and will stay together for the duration of the ride. Doesn’t matter whether you ride a mountain bike or a road bike – it’s all about getting used to the route and picking up useful information! And having fun of course!!
Any Divas wishing to attend a training day MUST pre-register by sending an email to devadivas@nullchestertri.org.uk. There may be more than one group if numbers are sufficient.
Meeting place will be at the White Gate into the Meadows on the corner of Elizabeth Crescent/Lower Park Road, Queen’s Park, Handbridge CH4 7BB. Time and date TBA.
The swim training evenings will be based from the Kayak/Canoe Club on Sandy Lane. This will give Divas a chance for more open water swim practise in the River Dee. Arrive at the Sandy Lane Kayak Club by 6.15 for a prompt 6.30 pm start in the river.
There will be a chance to ask coaches any questions at each evening. There will be a small charge of £3 per session – tea/coffee and biscuits included.
Ladies wishing to take part in the swim training MUST email Sally on devadivas@nullchestertri.org.uk as places are limited.
