Beginners Seminar & Training Days

Beginners Seminar

Sunday 6th February – 6-8pm!
Zoom meeting!

Needs must, as they say, and for 2021 we did the Beginner’s Seminar as a zoom meeting!  It worked really well – so well that 2022  Seminar will again be held on zoom.  A face to face seminar will be organised if it is feasible.

Topics covered will include:

  • What is a tri?
  • What kind of / level of training
  • Open water swimming
  • What to expect on the day
  • What to wear
  • Ladies triathlon journeys!!
  • Q&A

This year I had a couple of our lovely Divas make a short video to share their experiences!!  Unfortunately my technical ineptness meant they didn’t play….fingers crossed I’ll have the hang of it for 2022!

We’ll finish off with answering any questions that Divas may have!

The seminar will be led by Sally Napthen (Level 3 Brititsh Triathlon coach) with other triathlon ladies talking about their triathlon/quadrathlon journey from complete novice to all sorts of distances (by video)!

A link to the zoom seminar will be sent out to all Divas on the entry list just before the seminar.

Bring your own tea/coffee, cakes and biscuits…or even a cheeky glass of wine!

Deva Divas Training Days

Cycle the Route

Dates TBA for 2022

This worked really well for 2021, so for 2022 there will again be some ‘cycle the route’ evenings organised.  A small group with a coach/bike leader to ride the Divas cycle route.  The group will stop at several intervals during the ride with coach/bike leaders answering any questions / giving helpful pointers!

The group will be small and will stay together for the duration of the ride.  Doesn’t matter whether you ride a mountain bike or a road bike – it’s all about getting used to the route and picking up useful information!  And having fun of course!!

Any Divas wishing to attend a training day MUST pre-register by sending an email to devadivas@nullchestertri.org.uk.  There may be more than one group if numbers are sufficient.

Meeting place will be at the White Gate into the Meadows on the corner of Elizabeth Crescent/Lower Park Road, Queen’s Park, Handbridge CH4 7BB.  Time and date TBA.

Swim Training Evenings

Wednesday 15th & 22nd and 29th June 2022 – Provisional!

The swim training evenings will be based from the Kayak/Canoe Club on Sandy Lane.  This will give Divas a chance for more open water swim practise in the River Dee.  Arrive at the Sandy Lane Kayak Club by 6.30 for a prompt 6.45 pm start in the river.

There will be a chance to ask coaches any questions at each evening.  There will be a small charge of £3 per session – tea/coffee and biscuits included.

Ladies wishing to take part in the swim training MUST email Sally on devadivas@nullchestertri.org.uk as places are limited – hence 3 evenings!

Some of you may know where the Canoe Club is, if you don’t, see the map below.
Directions are:
Come into Sandy Lane from the Chester end, hopefully you will find a parking space on the roadside but if it is busy there is a car park at the bottom of Sandy Lane by the river/play area.  If you come into Sandy Lane from Sainsbury’s Huntington direction the car park is on your left hand side – park here abd walk up to the club at the top of Sandy Lane.  Just before the very top (before the Mount pub), there is a grey gate on the left leading down to the club house and riverside.
