Club volunteers
As you can imagine, supporting the needs of over 450 members is a challenge and we are always looking to add new training sessions to the weekly schedule. To do this, we always need more people to get involved in running the club, so if you can spare some time each week to help please contact our Volunteer Coordinator – volunteers@nullchestertri.org.uk.
There are a great number of ways you can help out, from leading runs or navigating rides, helping to organise social events, baking goodies for our races, or helping move kit at our storeroom.
In 2019 the club is running 6 events across the Junior and senior sections plus a Monday evening Aquathlon series and a borders league race. The events start with the borders league race in January and the rest of the races from May with the Junior Aquathlon and the Christleton 5k. All our races are run by volunteers and to keep these successful, we really need your help!
All we ask is that you volunteer for at least one of our events. We also know our races are great and that many of you want to compete as well, this is encouraged, but if you do; please ask your family and friends to help out on your behalf, whilst you enjoy the race. Of course friends and family can volunteer even if you are not racing.
Please let the Volunteer Coordinator or the race organisers know that you can volunteer as soon as possible via the signup links on this page, the earlier you let our race organisers know that you are available to help, the less stressed they will be and hopefully they will be able to get a few good nights’ sleep before the race.
Each year the feedback from competitors reflects the quality of our volunteers and their amazing encouragement around the course.
There are several ways that you can help:
- Set up: This involves helping set up the run and cycle routes, build the transition area and swim course, and transporting the equipment
- Registration marshals
- Race marshals – this includes marshals on the bike and run course, canoeists on the swim course, marshals in transition and lots of other roles.
- Clean-up: After the race we also need you to help us clear up the site.
