Coach Training
Chester Triathlon Club is always looking for people to join our coaching team. Becoming a coach is a great way to help members develop their abilities across all disciplines and also helps you develop personally too.
If you are interested in becoming a coach, below is the list of minimum criteria and expectations of our volunteer club coaches.  Providing you meet the entry criteria, the club will cover the cost for the level of course but in return we also expect there to be a minimum level of commitment after the course is undertaken.  If you are interested, or have any questions about this please contact the coaching co-ordinator at coaching@nullchestertri.org.uk

Level 1

Level 1 – Course Cost : £350

Pre Level 1: at least 3 months shadowing 2 sessions per month with a minimum total of 15 hours

Post Level 1: assist coaching at least 2 sessions per month

Level 2

Level 2 – Course Cost : £540

Pre Level 2:  at least six months assistant coaching 2 sessions per month, ideally over more than one discipline with a minimum total of 24 hours

Post Level 2: coaching at least 3 sessions per month

Level 3

Level 3 – Course Cost : £1695

Pre Level 3: at least 1 year experience as a level 2 coach, coaching 3 sessions per month and experience in coaching all 3 disciplines, a minimum total of 60 hours.

Post Level 3: commitment to coach at least 6 sessions per month for a minimum of 2 years.

Already a Coach?

If you have already qualified as a BTF certified coach either prior to joining the club or elsewhere, and want to get involved, please contact the coaching co-ordinator.
Before new coaches get involved, we would ideally like to them to shadow the existing coaches across all the disciplines to understand the club sessions, and also we would expect a current DBS check to be in place prior to leading any sessions.
A resource for all our coaches is available on our Coaching Documents page.
