About the Championships

Our Championships

As a member of Chester Tri you automatically have entry to Chester Tri Championship events.  The rules and operation are reviewed and revised annually.

There are two Chester Tri Championships:

Summer Championships (runs from April until end of September)

Almost any triathlon or duathlon event at any distance can be used as a Summer Championship qualification race provided it has a minimum number of 250 finishers.

Club Vest Championships (runs from October until April). This was new for the 2018/19 season and replaced the old Winter Championships.

The Club Vest Championships qualifying events will be published on the webpage and in the club calendar.

Perpetual shields are presented at the End of Season Awards Party to the male and female winners in both Championships. Check out the previous winners in the “Hall of Fame“.

In addition to the overall male and female Club Champions, there are awards for individual champions at Sprint, Standard, Middle, Long Course and Duathlon.  In the Summer Championships a triathlete can win a maximum of two awards, then roll-down will apply.

In addition to the overall male and female Club Vest Champions, there are also three age category winners.

Participation Rules

If an event is classed as an Open event members have to be entered as a member of Chester Triathlon Club on the entry form. This applies to all members especially ones who are members of other clubs that are affiliated with either the England Athletics (or Welsh Athletics equivalent) for running clubs, the Cycling Time Trials organisation for cycling clubs and Swim England (formally the Amateur Swimming association).

Competitors using other competitor numbers unofficially will not be included in the Championships. If a number becomes available you need to contact the organiser to have the number details changed. Anyone found to be competing with somebody else’s number will be disqualified from the league.

Any questions please contact championships@nullchestertri.org.uk

The league organisers decision will be final in all matters.
