Summer  Championships

How it works

Sprint and Standard distance awards are based on your best TWO results over the season. For Middle and Long Course it is the ONE best result.

From this year we will use the same system the BTF uses for World and European qualifying races for our Summer Championships. You can submit your results to almost any triathlon you have done which has over 250 finishers. This minimum is to ensure races are of a similar standard.

Finishing times are simply converted in to a percentage of the overall winner’s time for their gender. We will work that out for you.

For example:

Overall Winner’s Time                1:40:01       =     100%
Chester Tri Member                   1:50:02       =     110%

There will be a Club Champion at each distance and age category awards – <45, 45-54 and 55+. In alternate years the age cats are <40, 40-49 and 50+. Overall Club Champions are determined by results at different distances. There are 26 Awards in total.

The winners, including age-category winners, will receive a complimentary invitation to the End of Season Party where the awards are presented.

Wearing of club kit is encouraged but not mandatory. Wearing a sponsors kit or kit which raises a potential conflict on interests e.g. kit of another club, will invalidate your results. If in doubt check with me first.

Please submit your results by Sunday 21st October 2018. Click here to submit your results

Qualifying Races

Any race with over 250 finishers – but NOT the Deva as most club members have to marshal. Events with fewer than 250 entries may be eligible if the Club decides the overall race winner sets a time which meets the Standard. The Clubs decision on this will be final.

Qualifying local events are likely to include, Bala standard, Boundary Breeze, Chirk, Deva Divas, Harlech, Nantwich sprint, Wirral, Shrewsbury, Wilsmslow sprint.

Local events that are small and unlikely to meet the Standard include Mold, Denbigh, Ruthin and Llanwrst.

The results of some events will be submitted automatically into the league table, namely Chirk and Diva Divas – Please DO NOT submit again.
