Summer  Championships

How it works

The format used in previous years was revised for 2016.

The Summer Championships are based on a club members best 2 Sprint, or best 2 Standard, or best Middle or best Long Course triathlon.

In addition to the overall male and female Summer Club Champions, awards will be made for individual Champions for Sprint, Olympic, Middle (75-150km) and Long Course (>150km) distances and in three Age Categories, <45, 45-54 and 55+.  In alternate years the age cats are <40, 40-49 and 50+.

As in previous years the Championship table score for each race is calculated using your time as a percentage of the overall winners time for your gender.

For example:

Overall Winner’s Time                1:58:18             100%
Chester Tri Member                   2:19:22             84.9%

Almost any triathlon event at any distance can be used as a Summer Championship qualification race provided it has a minimum number of 150 finishers or is a World or European qualifying race.  The Deva Triathlon is NOT eligible as most Club members marshal this event and so could not participate.

Please submit your results by Sunday 22nd October 2017. Click here to submit your results

The winners, including age-category winners, will receive a complimentary invitation to the End of Season Party where the awards are presented.

Event examples

Local qualifying events (i.e. more than 150 finishers) include Harlech, Chirk, Deva Divas, Nantwich, Wirral Sprint, Sundowner Middle, Cholmondeley, Boundary Breeze, Stoke and Bala. The results of some events have been submitted automatically into the league table, namely Diva Divas, Bala Standard, Sundowner Middle, Chirk Sprint & Harlech Sprint – Please DO NOT submit again.

However, there are many local events that are too small (under 150 competitors) to qualify, including Mold, Denbigh, Ruthin and Llanwrst.
