British Triathlon Event of the Year 2016

The Deva Divas Triathlon is a short distance ladies only race. It’s now a well-known, popular event which, in 2016, won the coveted British Triathlon “Event of the Year”, Triathlon England Club Event of the Year and also North West Regional Race of the Year!!

Deva Divas is the only race to have ever won the British Triathlon award twice – the first time in 2009!

Chester Tri are pleased to announce that Deva Divas 2025 will again be held on the Chester Meadows within the City of Chester.

Deva Divas 2025 Will Include the Aquabike for the 5th year!
World’s 1st Ladies Quadrathlon – back for a 8th year!

Please make sure you have read the British Triathlon Federation Rulebook and also, if you’re entering the Quad then please read the Quadrathlon rules on the British Quadrathlon Association website.

Deva Divas 2025 will again include an Aquabike!  It has become so popular with Divas who are either injured and can’t run, or who can’t run due to medical reasons…..so it’s back again!  A chance to take part in such a friendly event without the pressure!  A 750m Swim and 25km Bike – exactly the same swim and bike courses as the Triathlon and Quadrathlon!

Going into the eighth year for 2025, ladies have to be quick to enter our extremely popular Deva Divas Quadrathlon!  As well as the 750m Swim, 25k Bike and 5k Run there will also be a 4k Kayak included.  There will again be 50 places which no doubt will fill fast!!

As always, the emphasis to ensure that the day is fun.  Many people see triathlon as a sport for those who are super fit but at Chester Tri we are encouraging more and more ladies to start training and take part in achievable, short distance races.

I just wanted to thank you for putting on such a brilliant event. It was my first time taking part in the Deva Divas and I have to say it is the best event I have ever competed at. It was so well organised and run, the volunteers were amazing, so supportive and friendly and I have never felt so safe on a bike course due to the excellent marshalling. What a fantastic triathlon. So thank you for all your hard work and that of all the people who helped to make this an unforgettable event. I loved the cake at the end as well.

Wow!! What a fabulous event!
Firstly, I loved all the training sessions. They really calmed my nerves at this was a first for me. It made the actual event less of an ‘unknown’. A massive thank you to all the coaches and volunteers who ran the sessions. Each and every one of them couldn’t do enough to make you feel at ease, relax and have fun. At no time did I feel uncomfortable.
The actual day was incredibly organised and friendly. The support from the volunteers was never ending. I loved having water poured on my head during the run. Every single person was clapped along the way – their hands must have raw after a few hours!
I will definitely be signing up for next year and persuading a few of my friends to have a go too.

I didn’t get a chance yesterday to convey my sincere thanks to you and the rest of the guys and girls for the hard work yesterday .
I enjoyed the event ( see you next year ) and the training days you provided. I understand completely how much work the organising of this event takes.
So many many thanks to all the people who gave up their own time to help on the swim and bike training beforehand and to all the marshalls and helpers yesterday. I was the crazy lady shouting thank you on the bike route.

I wanted to thank Dylan from your technical team; my inner tube ruptured just as I was racking my bike before the race, I had no inner tubes with me (numpty) and was about to cry thinking I would have to miss the race but he was so kind and gave me an inner tube and put it on for me just in time for the start!
It’s lovely to take part in a triathlon where the organisers and team genuinely want you to enjoy the day and do well.

I just wanted to say a massive thanks to you for running surely the friendliest tri in the UK and probably beyond!

In 2016 I came last in the Deva Divas tri after a panic attack in the water…. but because I knew how wonderful your marshals were I came back in 2017 and didn’t come last! and this year I returned with three wonderful friends to do the Quadrathlon. What a fantastic 12 weeks we had with Chester Canoe Club and training from John and Carol Hatton and of course the inspiration of Jean Ashley!

We absolutely loved the day….. and nope I didnt come last… 39th!
We have already said we would love to come back next year..if we sign up in time!
Thanks once again…the confidence you have given me is immeasurable not to mention the fun we have had!

Nina

Thank you again to all of the volunteers who committed their time. Their support and encouragement was outstanding. Thank you also to Vicky for the bike ride event which was
organised. The other ladies on the ride were so helpful in sharing tips to myself especially Mo and not laughing at my fold up bike. For my first time what a thrilling and dare I say exhilarating event.
Once again I’d like to reiterate that the logistics, organisation and benevolence needed was awesome. If people truly understood what effort it takes to organise something like this then they
would be truly grateful. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved again and well done to all of the ladies who participated in the event you are all truly amazing women.

Sandra

I’m just writing to thank you for all the hard work you and your team put in to organising the Deva Divas event on Sunday. Living locally I was able to attend most of the training sessions which was a great help and so friendly and supportive.
It was my first triathlon at age 55 and I hope to do many more.

I want to thank you so much for the wonderful Deva Divas event yesterday. From the
moment I arrived for registration to departure at the end of the event, I was so
impressed with the level of organisation, the provision for the events themselves;
from facilities to merchandise, and the wonderful marshals. This was only my third
triathlon, and I loved it from start to finish! The event stood shoulders above my
previous two events. The atmosphere and vibe were wonderful also. I’m counting the
days already to the next Deva Divas!

Helen

Thank you Sally and your team!
Today was my first ever triathlon and I can’t thank you enough!
The whole experience was amazing. The event details, organisation and support was outstanding.
I’ll definitely be back next year!

Terrie

Thank you so much for an amazing day ……. again! You have created something amazing there!

Elizabeth Stanfield

I would like to just write a small message first to Sally the organiser for such an amazing event, and to all of the volunteers. This was my first open swim triathlon. I am not a swimmer and was so nervous. A gentleman called Mark, a marshal, put me at ease over my swim, he was so friendly. A HUGE thankyou to a lady called Sue who canoed alongside me all the way along the River Dee. I would not have done it without her. I was so chuffed with completing this event, and am hooked now.  THANKS Deva Divas Triathlon I’ll be back next year. PS The cake at the end was scrumptious.

Jane Marple

Amazing day today! My 1st tri & I’m totally hooked! Can’t wait for next year! Raised £250 for the Stroke Association so far too! Thanks to Chester Tri Club & Sally for all the organisation & marshalling!

Thank you so much to Jean, Carol and John. It has been such an amazing experience. I did the Diva triathlon for the first time last year and I was blown away by the whole atmosphere – it is such a friendly and welcoming experience.
Well, doing the quad this year has surpassed that so much – I actually feel like I am part of a team – a team of amazing women (with John being the honorary male member!) who have all been so friendly, welcoming, warm and supportive.
I walked into the clubhouse at the end of April very nervous – I didn’t know a single person and I didn’t know what I was doing. I may still be a novice in the kayak but I do feel like I have made some true friends. So again a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you, and I will definitely see you again as I will definitely be back to try and beat my time next year!

Emma Parry

A brilliant event, thanks Sally for organising and all amazing support from the marshals, thank you all so much .. You did a fabulous job in tough weather, your encouragement helped all the way. My first ever tri and finished with a smile on my face in a much quicker time than I thought, loved it, signing up for next year. Thanks everyone !
