The Cross Country season is about to start - time to splash through some mud and eat cake!
Our first race is 2.00pm Saturday 28th at Arrowe Park.

For those thinking "I'm not fit enough, maybe next year" - don't put it off, do it while you still can and fly the flag for Chester Tri!
We hope more of Chester Tri's ladies will have a go, continuing the buzz from the Multi-Terrain Series. Make of it what you want - from high end competition to a social training run. Build core strength through the winter whilst having a laugh!

This season we will again target the Liverpool & District XC League and the Cheshire Champs.

Liverpool and District XC League:
Sat 28th October – Race 1 – Arrowe Park, Wirral – 2.00pm
Sat 25th November – Race 2 – Sefton Park, Liverpool – Women 1.15pm, Men 2.00pm (enter in advance, £2)
Sat 9th December – Race 3 – Beacon Park, Skelmersdale – 2.00pm
Sun 11th February – L&D Championships – Clarke Gardens, Liverpool – 11.00am (enter in advance, £2)

Cheshire XC Championships:
Sat 6th January – Delamere - Women 1.40pm, Men 2.45pm (enter in advance, £4)

Meanwhile the North West Sunday XC League we can treat as extra races to the above (as a lot of the dates clash with the Borders League or the same weekend as the L&D League):
29th October – Race 1 – Clarke Gardens, Liverpool – 10.00 am
12th November – Race 2 – Beacon Park, Skelmersdale – 10.00 am
10th December – Race 3 – Arrowe Park, Wirral – 10.00 am
14th January – Race 4 – Town Park, Runcorn – 10.00 am
28th January – Race 5 – Walton Hall Park, Liverpool (TBC) – 10.00 am
25th February – Race 6 – Birchwood Forest Park, Warrington – 10.00 am

With the exception of 3 races, all races are free with no need to sign up in advance - just turn up and run! Courses range from 4.5 and 6 miles.
Don't forget you need EA membership, Chester Tri membership and a club vest to race. Off road shoes or spikes are strongly advised.

Winter Weekend ride Saturday 21 October

I'm leading the group 2 ride this Saturday. Meet at Christleton Leisure Centre at 9:15 ready to set off at 9:30. Bring all the usual gear: pump, spare tube, chain splitter, wet weather gear, mobile phone and money for coffee stop if that's what the group want to do.
My ride is through Aldford, Churton, Malpas and Cholmondley, returning over Harthill, then missing Tattenhall to pass the ice cream farm and head back to Christleton. We'll aim for 15 mph or a little faster and the distance is 54 kilometres (approx 34 miles). I tried to load a link to my Garmin course but the site is not working. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP & AWARDS

Nearly 30 Club Awards are up for grabs based on performance over the summer season. There were many surprised and delighted winners last year. This year it could be you! BUT ‘You need to be in it to win it’.

The summer championship pages on the Club Website have now been updated and all you need to do is submit your best results from the summer season. You MUST do this by Sunday 22nd October.

There are Championships at 4 distances - Sprint, Standard, Middle and Long. Just submit your time and the OVERALL winners’ time for your gender. We will do the rest!

In addition to crowning a Club Champion at each distance there are age-category awards. The age categories change in alternate years. This year they are <45, <55 and over 55.

No one can win more than two awards – roll down applies. That means there will be at least 14 different award winners, last year there were more than 20.

All winners will get a complimentary invite to the End of Season Party to be presented with their Award

Dan and I have already entered the results to 5 races. Chirk Sprint, Sundowner Middle, Diva Divas, Harlech Sprint and Bala Standard. DO NOT enter these again.

ELIGIBLE RACES

The Sprint and Standard distances are based on your best two races, Middle and Long Couse on your best one. However, you can submit as many results in as many categories as you wish, the program will do the rest.

Sprint distances MUST have at least 150 entries overall or be a European or World Qualifiers. This is to try to ensure race equivalence in respective of the caliber of the winning athletes, as their time sets the bench-mark.

DEVA – INELLIGIBLE. To be fair to everyone (the event could not run without marshals who can therefore not race) The Deva Triathlon is excluded from the Summer Championships.
