I caught the running bug at the tail end of 2018, after starting a new job which left me with little time to get to the gym or the pool. I wasn’t a born runner and definitely had to really force myself out the door in the beginning! However, I quickly went from attempting to run a single mile without stopping to running my first 10K in Manchester in the spring of 2019.
Since then my love of running has grown and I’ve gone on to complete a number of races, including the 2021 London Marathon where, sadly, a longstanding injury derailed my hopes of a “fast” finish.
I’ve also created my own women’s running community and podcast (Run Panthera), shining a light on “ordinary” women doing extraordinary things in running. I have a passion for helping others achieve their goals and motivating people to just get out and run.
As well as running, I also love getting out on my bike and swimming (both indoors and outside in the wild!) and so combining my three loves seemed like a no-brainer. I completed my first two sprint triathlons in 2022 and now (armed with a coach) I’m looking to continue my tri journey.
I moved to Chester in 2020 and joined Chester Tri Club a year later. I love leading the club on our Tuesday night runs, and in 2023 trained to become a Coach in Running Fitness.
