I was a hyper active child always bombing about on my bike or roaming over the fields. This hasn’t really changed much into adulthood!

I played hockey to a reasonable standard throughout my teenage years and into my late 20’s. Cycling and running was part of my S&C for this. I did run cross country at school and at Uni, I also did a few road races whilst at Uni.

I ran London Marathon in 2001 and suffered a disc injury in 2002 so pretty much did nothing for a year. I didn’t think I could run much so I rode bicycles on and off road for the next 15 years almost exclusively.

I started racing cyclocross in 2015 and this started me doing a little running again, and I emphasise a little running! If you could ride it ride it. As far as running went in training it was very, very minimal and it hurt a lot!

In 2017 I a dog came into my life and started to do a little trail running with her, however, in 2020 I rescued Lumi Hound from Greece and life changed forever! I wanted a trail hound to join me on trail rides, this proved to be a pipe dream for a number of reasons but prey drive and zero recall are the main ones.

I started to run with her and really started to enjoy it. Since 2021 I would describe myself as a runner rather than a cyclist. I just love trail and mountain running.
