All our marshals are volunteers from the club and know what it means to compete in triathlons, their enthusiastic support and encouragement are what make it an amazing event. 1500m Swim: View the Route
The swim in the River Dee starts at the Sandy Lane Ferry Terminal on the Meadows is 350m upstream and 1150m downstream (the current in the river is usually barely noticeable at this time of year).
Waves are set off at 10 minute intervals starting at 08:00 and there should be no more than 150 people in each wave. The river is very wide and there is plenty of space for swimmers.
For spectators, the meadows are an ideal place to spot the swimmers for the whole course.
40k Bike: View the Route
The fairly flat bike course leaves Chester through the scenic village of Eccleston, through Pulford, Rossett and Marford, entering Wales on quiet rural roads before returning to Rossett and a fast return to transition. Marford marks a tricky hill but, after the turn-off, it's a great run home.
10k Run: View the Route
Finally, the run is two laps of riverside paths, picturesque park land and local minor roads, you also cross the Dee via the suspension bridge.
The course allows you to get a close eye on your competitors at various points during the lap.
Results: View the Results
Once you have finished you can check your results on the timing screen and get a print of your splits. We aim to present all the prizes within 15mins of the last competitor finishing.
The results are usually posted on our web site on the evening of the race so you can check out your placing. If you enter a mobile we'll send you an SMS with your splits as soon as possible after the race.
Relay:
If you don't feel you can complete all three disciplines why not try a relay entry. Three people can enter as a relay, each person completing one discipline each. This is an excellent way to get into the sport and enjoy the atmosphere of the day.
